Tinisha SCott |
M.A , Marriage & Family Therapy

I hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and a Master’s Degree in Marriage & Family Therapy.  I have 18+ years of experience working in the Mental/Behavioral Health field.

I specialize in children and adolescents, but also serve a diverse population of families and couples.  I am also experienced in serving the substance use population in all stages of treatment and recovery.

My therapeutic approach to individuals is person centered, using mindfulness, reframing, and narrative techniques.  Emotional and behavior regulation techniques are utilized with families as a promotion of emotional and family centered therapy.

I enjoy working with at risk children and adolescents in an effort treat and support recovery from trauma, school struggles, and family issues and concerns.  However, I am of service to all individuals, families, and couples experiencing any level of distress or disruption to their mental, emotional, and behavioral health.

I believe everyone has a voice, and that voice deserves to be heard. Challenges, crisis, and life happens to us all, but with effective supports we can overcome and manage it.  Sometimes that support is a simple listening ear.  That’s the approach I take in therapy. I meet individuals where they currently are in their struggle, listen with an open, non-judgmental ear, and join with them to establish sensible and achievable goals.

I enjoy spending time with family, binge watching dramadies, and all things sports.  I am strong in my faith and utilize it as motivation to continue serving my community through therapy.

I look forward to speaking, meeting, and working with you on your journey. Your voice has purpose, use it!
